Monotype

= a unique, one-of-a-kind print created by painting or drawing on a smooth, non-absorbent surface (such as glass, metal, or plexiglass) and transferring the image to paper via pressure, typically a printing press; unlike other printmaking techniques, it produces only one strong impression, combining the painterly qualities of painting with the unique texture of print.
