What is the NPK Artists Curated Registry?
- The NPK Artists Curated Registry is a mapping of the contemporary visual arts professionals and institutions relevant for Eastern Europe & Balkans, created and maintained with the aim to facilitate the visibility and participation of documented artists on the international art scene.
Why does it have several names and what they mean?
- This mapping is currently developed under the name of NPK Artists Curated Registry, being a system where records: names, publications, institutions, etc, are systematically kept.
- Another name used to refer to it is INDEX, which is merely used to denominate the printed catalogue of selected artists presented in the much larger and continuously evolving registry.
Who is in charge with its content?
- The registry is maintained by Lumi Rațiu, documentalist, under the advisement of artists.
Who approves what information is published in the NPK Artists Curated Registry?
- The suggestions, proposals, or evidences, mostly provided by the affected persons and institutions themselves, are carefully reviewed by the registry documentalist, before making a publication decision.
How to register in the NPK Artists Curated Registry?
- This sections provides several registration forms, via Google Forms, where interested persons can provide and suggest information for publication in the NPK Artists Curated Registry.
I have registered in the NPK Artists Curated Registry, but I did not received any confirmation or I receive an error message.

- There is no guarantee of fixed time of responsiveness, however, we strive to maintain the records on ongoing basis.
Who can use the images published in the NPK Artists Curated Registry?
- All the images published in the registry are subject to the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International copyright licence. On short, any usage must not make any derivate of the image and cannot be republished for commercial purposes. A complete licence content is available when clicking on the License button for each image.
Who can use the information published in the NPK Artists Curated Registry?
- The registry is a public registry, which means the information is open and accessible to unrestricted public.
- There are copyrights restrictions on image use (see above) and limitations on the fair use, as follows:

What type of public organisations are expected to be published into the register?
- We maintain records of organisations who are based in Eastern Europe & Balkans, or working with Eastern Europe & Balkans themes or artists.

- Artist-run spaces - Galleries - Art Fairs - Art Residencies - Art Publications
- Other type of records may be added. If your organisation does not fit any of our category, please contact us via official contact form on our website: www.npk-east.de.
Is there any type of artistic work not considered for publication?
- Yes. Please see restrictions list at the answer to the question above: #Who can use the information published in the NPK Artists Curated Registry?. Same restrictions apply to the artistic work proposed for publication. Exceptions to our rules are rare and only in well justified cases, for their relevance to the artistic patrimony of a person or a country. There are not other supplementary restrictions.
