Biography
Ana Henrieta Neczpal, (she/her) visual artist, (b. 1948, Timișoara, Romania) of German ethnical background, has lived in Romania. Her parents were workers: daughter of Mihai (driver) and Terezia-Ana (waitress). After graduating from 12th grade and becoming a cartoonist, she tried to flee across the border, but was caught. Scarce information about her artistic works.
Arrest under communist regime
Ana Henrieta Neczpal was arrested on the morning of April 16, 1968, after attempting to illegally cross the Romanian-Yugoslav border through the Stamora-Moraviţa point, in a hiding place created in the car of her fiancé, Reiter Martin.[1]. She was sentenced to one year of correctional imprisonment for attempted fraudulent border crossing by sentence no. 88/1968 given by the Timiş Military Tribunal[2].
